You have:

  • Extensive knowledge of residential wood frame construction

  • A degree or diploma in Architecture or Construction Management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, Revit and AutoCad

  • Experience supervising staff and coordinating consultants

  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution

  • A strong design vocabulary

The Job

  • A leadership role, guiding the team and the project through design development, permitting, construction documentation, and production.

  • Coordinate and maintain lasting relationships with staff, vendors, consultants, builders, and local regulatory officials

  • Ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule

A typical day with us

  • Interpreting 3D schematic Design Models and converting them into Design Development Drawings

  • Creating, and coordinating Building Information Models for complex residential projects for permitting, fabrication, and construction, with a keen understanding of the construction process, the specifications, and applicable building codes

  • Creating, and organizing complete sets of Construction Documents

  • Reviewing BIMs, DDs, CDs, shop and panel drawings to ensure that all conform to appropriate specifications, standards and building codes

  • Coordinating with local regulatory officials, consultants, and builders to ensure that the clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner

  • Producing, analyzing and advising on detailed specifications for suitable materials and processes

  • Creating and overseeing the creation of details and families to further expand the existing detail library

  • Researching building codes, construction techniques, materials, industry standards, and local regulations

  • Visiting construction sites to ensure that architectural specifications are properly followed (across Canada and the US)

  • Participating in a collaborative studio culture, and advancing the performance of the Design Team by challenging the status quo, and acting as a change agent for continuous improvement
